Re: Open-Volt Project
Not dead yet, I still work on it time to time, with a slowed down rhythm for sure. The mistake I've made is introducing the project way too early I guess. I just take my time, do as many refactoring as needed to increase development comfort and maintainability. As I've stated before, I aim to do a s...

Re: Open-Volt Project
Hi 7wells, Thank you for the interest you give to Open-Volt! :) I'm still working on the project, but way less than several months ago. From the last time I've given an update about it, I've focused on technical stuff, and didn't give visibility about it because I think it's not the most interesting...

Re: Open-Volt Project
@Konrad Yes, I will try to include it, maybe with an option to toggle it. I will investigate on this curious bug, you provided the car you used so it will help a lot, thanks :) @r6te Well seen, it could be linked to that. I made a method to parse floats with the invariant culture but maybe I forgot...

Re: Your Re-Volt Collection
I've received my first copy of Re-Volt for PC in 2001 or 2002 from a french magazine called "PC Collector". The magazine is very interesting because it gives you a lot of information about the game such as how to use it, how to mod it, where to find additional content, and where to find ac...

Re: Open-Volt Project
Here are the news! I have considered some feedbacks and made the following updates: Addons are now isolated. They have their own "workspace" so the base content and the addon content are not merged anymore. In the car editor, you can now take car screeshots with a transparent background In...

Re: Open-Volt Project
Ok, I think I see why it doesn't really behave as expected. I think it's the way I apply gravity . I will fix that :) Edit: I've directly edited the parameters.txt file and don't have the same result. So, it's the way the values are updated that is wrong when live editing. Some parameters depend on ...

Re: Open-Volt Project
Thanks
No, the physics run at 120fps, like Re-Volt (the constant is 1/120 ~= 0.0083 if I'm right?).
Maybe you refer to when I increased the car speed and mass which made it look like it was running at twice the speed?

Re: Open-Volt Project
Hello everyone! A quick update to illustrate Open-Volt as a tool. Here is a demo of the WIP car editor which exclusively use the SDK. The car editor is easier to create than the track editor, that's why I started to work on it :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnsIaWBL_iw I will probably make a pub...

Re: Open-Volt Project
@Skarma Didn't know about this feature in RVGL (probably because I haven't created any car so far  ) @ZipperZbieracz Two reasons: Because of the source code of Re-Volt. I have already tried to work on it, but I came to the conclusion that you will spend way more time trying to get rid of all h...

Re: Open-Volt Project
@r6te Thanks for your feedback! :) I partially agree with what you said about the audience though. To give more details about what I would like to achieve in a first time: The audience I want to target in priority is Re-Volt players. I think they are more likely to stick with Re-Volt, which I can u...

Open-Volt Project
Hello everyone! I'm back after years of inactivity to introduce Open-Volt, a project I've been working on for about 2 years. https://i.imgur.com/yf924N5.png GitLab page For short: Open-Volt is to Re-Volt what Garry’s Mod is to Half-Life. Open-Volt is a framework and a sandbox. Its development aims t...
