The Reactor 2
Hi all Re-volters, As you probably already know, I'm busy with a track again; The Reactor 2. This track will race through a reactor, around some buildings, platforms and hallways. https://javildesign.com/images/the_reactor_2_2.jpg https://javildesign.com/images/the_reactor_2_5.jpg https://javildesig...

Bake overlapping UV's and bake shadows
Hi all Revolters, In this video I try to explain how to bake overlapping UV's (same repeating texture on multiple faces) to a new texture using a second UVmap and I'll show you how you can bake shadows directly in to the texture as well. I used several different methods to create shadows on my almos...

Re: Issue with animated textures
I agree that animation sometimes is a pain to work with. But I don't agree with the statement that we need 60 frames for cool looking liquid animation. I can create realistic liquids using just 16 frames. I spent a lot of time to create a method to make it perfectly seamless. This method uses a lot ...

Re: The Reactor
No, I always use the latest version of Blender (in this case 2.83). Yes, all done in one weekend. Keep in mind that the model (the track) isn't that large. Also, I've used arrays and modifiers to speed up the design, including object instancing to save and share UV space. I began to create just one ...

The Reactor
Build a track in a weekend. This was my goal and I almost made it. Modeling was done in a day, baking and texturing in half day, so what was left was some nodes and artwork. But I wanted to add some extra stuff, like custom animations and waving water. I'm almost finished with this track, so I hope ...

Re: Space Ship
The distance issue was solved by adding just 1 face nearby an object in to the world (.w) file to extend the visual bounds.
Working to fix some graphical issues at the moment.
Release is delayed. Will post as soon I have some progress.

Re: Space Ship
This week I finished the texture painting. Also I added some doors and created an exterior. Last few days I worked on a planet that slowly rotates. It still needs improvement, because the is a limit how far a custom animation can be viewed in RVGL. I need more distance because I want to create the f...

Space Ship
Hello Revolters, Maybe some of you already noticed, but in June I began to create a space ship track. The idea was to create a corridor with some windows and on the outside a slightly moving starry environment. Project went a little out of hand, as usual. https://javildesign.com/revolt/gif/spaceShip...

Re: Makeitgood: Visual feedback on movement, Snapping
Yeah I understand. I agree that it would be handy to have those options in the makeitgood mode. I think you may already know, but just for the information; Before I import the .fob back in to Blender, I change the objects that are object animations to a temporary known object. It's not very clean wo...

Re: Makeitgood: Visual feedback on movement, Snapping
I don't know if the following method is what you are searching for, but when I want to place an object exact how I want it, I use Jigebren's plugin for Blender 2.73. There are some flaws, like the custom animation object which are 'unknown' and thus unusable, but there is a method to go around that....

Re: New Game mode ideas, thoughts?
I don't know if this is maybe already around for years, I never do race that much. But I thought about that every car need to collect 10 stars or coins or whatever that are random placed on the track. The idea is that you need to collect them all (10/10) in 1 lap and if you miss one, you need to go ...

Liquid Animation
Seamless liquid animation I've been working on liquid animation for a while. Since Route-77 I've been experimenting with it. I noticed when I rendered out a grid of 16 frames in one texture, that there is always a little seam visible in Revolt. I wanted that seam gone. http://www.javildesign.com/im...

Re: Satellite images experiment
Ok so I did a re-paint of the main map to loose the low detail of the satellite image. It was a lot of work in Blender and Substance, but I like the result. I also recorded some soundFX and added them in to the properties.txt. Wind (as force field) is also added and I'm busy to add stuff in that wil...

Re: Satellite images experiment
Thanks Kiwi! Good news, the track is 99,9% finished.. ..but because of the upcoming of a new release version with new possibilities, I decided to postpone the release. The new release will be getting the possibility to add custom sounds for while driving on materials. So I dove in to my sounds libra...

Re: RVGL don't load near textures in my own track while playing
Possible problem can be the face direction. Hard to investigate without the files.
Another problem could be a mixed up visibox (*.vis). So, if you have discord, send me the files, I'll check.

Re: RVGL don't load near textures in my own track while playing
I think the problem lies with Revolt's texture system. You say that in Blender all the textures are assign well, but you can assign any texture well in Blender and see direct result in the viewport. What you need to check if the object faces has the correct texture assigned for Revolt to read. This ...
