That is the latest one. If in doubt, you can check the app's version number (new one should say 20.0905a).

Re: A sidenote about SuperTuxKart

Could RVGL eventually become a kind of "engine" for similar games? You read my mind! It's my vision for RVGL. Think of something like Quake or Doom engine, but for racing games - with a focus on R/C and vehicular physics. Are you aware of SuperTuxKart? (see GitHub , forum , and a Youtube ...

Re: Problem with cloning rvgl-base/core (--recursive)

That looks correct. Yes, simply ignore the error message for core.

Also, I plan to release an RVGL update very soon (hopefully tomorrow), so I even recommend you to put off building it until then. Did you get to try out the test build that I posted?

Re: Auto-update GameControllerDB from GitHub?

Yes, they are static. I update it manually as new commits could always introduce bugs or regressions. SDL2 already includes a large list of hardcoded mappings, so these additional mapping are not so important.

Re: Xbox 360 wireless controller - can't make it working correctly

Ok, here's a test build with SDL upgraded to 2.0.12, and several other fixes.
rvgl_20.0902a_test_android.apk

There is a similarly updated controllermap:
rvgl_20.0902a_controllermap_test.apk

Note: Superseded by the 20.0905a release.

Re: Problem with cloning rvgl-base/core (--recursive)

Clone everything except core - the core repo is private so you won't be able to clone it without private access. We provide prebuilt core libs for each platform. This is how you can build the android project without core access. For android, this is "distrib/platform/android/<arch>/libmain.so&q...

Ah, thank you! :) And the core RVGL source? Is it not public? Are there any plans to publish/make it open, too? Please accept my apologies if I have overseen any such earlier announcements or expansions. Back to the Android update: I understand that I should wait a few days, right? This hasn't been...

Re: Xbox 360 wireless controller - can't make it working correctly

Thank you so much! I can test this also on Amazon's Fire TV with 4 controllers (from 2 different makes, each), connected via Y-cable. Until now, splitscreen is not yet available for Android. Will it be possible with 4 players? Or is it possible that 2 players play on splitscreen on one device vs. 2...

Hello, is the source with updated SDL2 support available somewhere? I could not find it, but could build and test myself. Not yet. I'll link you to an updated android build when it's ready. Hopefully it shouldn't be more than a few days. The values under [controller] in profile.ini are different fo...

Re: RVGL now on Arch Linux AUR

Opt would need to be creates separately first with standard permissions: mkdir -m 644 $pkgdir/opt Then when installing files: install -Dm666 (this would create directories with same permission I think, so /opt/rvgl and below directories will have 666 and be writable). Directories need executable pe...

Re: RVGL now on Arch Linux AUR

I'm thinking maybe we should make /opt/rvgl/ directory and all the files writable by any user (666, game binary should be 755 and .desktop file -- 644). Reason to do that is users might want to mod their game conents and we should not prevent to do that. Ok, let's do it. What about folders though? ...

All my game run smooth. Only RVGL has this problem.
Are you sure you have V-Sync on? What is your frame rate in-game?

Re: ipv6 support

ENet in fact doesn't support IPv6, even though patches were contributed multiple times. This is because it will be a major, compatibility-breaking change. I've been considering forking ENet and applying the patches myself, but we'd still need IPv6 users available for testing.

Re: [SUGGESTION] Save keyboard and controller mappings separately

Yep, this has been requested before (on ORP?) and it's planned. The issue with having mappings per-controller is uniquely identifying controllers in a cross-platform way. I'm afraid this might not be possible, which means mappings will get reset when moving a profile from Windows to Linux (or other ...

I have to look into this when working on dedicated server support. There were complications with the v1.2 implementation which is why it didn't make it in RVGL.

Re: Xbox 360 wireless controller - can't make it working correctly

The controller support on Android can be a bit broken, and I suspect this to be due to bugs / limitations in the SDL2 version that the game is built with. Recent SDL2 updates bring much needed improvements to the Android controller support, so wait for the next RVGL release. I can also post a test b...

Re: Problem "hiccup" in RVGL

I'm glad the issue seems solved for now. I'm reading that the 2004 update introduced a lot of issues in general, so that could just be it. In case the issue comes back, I have a few points in mind: You mentioned "i have frame around 300 and 500", which implies v-sync was off. This could ha...

There is nothing peculiar with the name selection screens AFAIK. You should be able to use the equivalent of Enter / Esc (or Forward / Back) on your controller as with any other menu. Doesn't it work this way?

Re: Status of WeGoI

Well, they don't have implications on the development of RVGL, only on the release of source code. The long term goal is to move away completely from the Re-Volt IP and turn RVGL into a general purpose engine / platform for games like Re-Volt, thus making it possible to release RVGL's code publicly.
