Thanks for this, I might try it later! Seems like a really well done tutorial.

Re: Custom starting position in time trials
Coming back to this, because I've thought about this recently. I think it'd still be nicer to have it as a seperate file, as tracks and track packs get updated often. This means, that every time someone downloads a pack again, the .inf file gets overwritten, therefore, the starting position gets los...

Damn, this track being done in a weekend? That's very cool, especially since it does not look half bad. I'm really curious for the result! Did you use 2.79 for modelling?

Re: Give player(s) host permissions
I think this would be a great thing to implement. This could not only help those people who would like to host and can't port forward, but also those hosts that become busy during a session. In this case, the race could go on using someone else's control, while the main host could go and do their th...

Re: [RVGL Release] 20.0430a
I think the easiest way to do it would be to run from terminal, yes. The default location for rvgl is ~/.rvgl, assuming you've installed it there, you can launch it this way: 1. Open your terminal app. 2. Type ~/.rvgl/rvgl -nointro -sessionlog (just an example, use the arguements you would like in p...

Re: More RVGL bugs 20.430a
This is probably the very same bug, not more bugs. I think not all images are loaded properly (looking at you, fxpage and font), and they are replaced by other textures. Could be a RAM-related issue, imo.

Bombs have been really buggy in online sessions lately
Hey! I feel like there has been something going on with bombs recently, and it's pretty weird. I've mostly experienced it this last week, and I'm fairly sure that it wasn't only me. I'll try to recall all of them that have happened, but I don't really see a pattern. #01 - Rooftops - me and Stingox -...

Re: New Game mode ideas, thoughts?
I don't know if this is maybe already around for years, I never do race that much. But I thought about that every car need to collect 10 stars or coins or whatever that are random placed on the track. The idea is that you need to collect them all (10/10) in 1 lap and if you miss one, you need to go...

Re: New Game mode ideas, thoughts?
This all sounds cool!
And now that custom animations are available, I think it'd be fun to do something like this, where the main platform would be rotating. That would definitely give people a hard time.

Re: Post upload tweaking at RVZ
Hey! I can see what you mean with your post, Manmountain, but I would like to provide you with a different perspective for cars that are being released. A few beta testers have a much lower chance of finding bugs in a car compared to many people who can download it from RVZ. Therefore, people should...

Re: Re-volt on a big screen?
Right now, my PC is connected to the big TV in the living room, so I am experiencing it. It is definitely fun! Looks nice in Full HD. Someone in the family also has an Android Box, but I haven't installed RVGL on it, yet. And an issue is that the Android port of the game is mostly optimized for mobi...

Have you tried turning shaders off? You can do that in profiles/rvgl.ini. Look for the line "Shaders = 1", and change it to 0, of course!

Svito, I'm not sure it's the best idea to recommend Arch Linux to people who use Windows... they will probably have a very hard time. For some people, Ubuntu could be the best distro.

Oh, in that case, that could work. I assume the same line could be added to stock tracks then without any difficulty?

Custom starting position in time trials
Hey! I've been noticing more and more recently how much of a pain it is to go back each time in Time Trial mode. You mess up at the very beginning, you have to go back again, etc. I think a good solution would be the following: Add support for a seperate file, where the time trial starting pos/repos...

If you download RVGL, and play it using wine, you can still play online (you need to join by IP).

When I installed Wine on my macbook, I followed this cool tutorial https://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/
You can skip the "install windows programs" part, since RVGL is portable and all you need to do is unzip it!

Re: Replay files rarely show weapons fired properly
Note: Sting's video was recorded from my own saved replay, and I was obviously hit on my end when it happened live (I mean, I flew across the whole jump section). Another example from a day ago: https://streamable.com/9l0it4 I could definitely feel DVark's water balloon hit me. I was the host as wel...

Re: RV House News
Yes, all you need is 2310 UDP (not even that, if you only wanna join lobbies). I only have that, and I'm always connected to centralized, and I'm also able to host. The ports are only needed for creating RVGL lobbies.
