Re: custom ball bearing texture
Ah, right, I only realized after posting earlier. You also need to edit the .inf file to include the correct paths, like with music. For instance: ENVSTILL 'levels\sakura\custom\envstill.bmp' ENVROLL 'levels\sakura\custom\envroll.bmp' They don't necessarily have to be in the custom folder, so you ca...

Re: custom ball bearing texture
It's the envstill.bmp file, located in the GFX folder by default. Here's the default image: https://i.imgur.com/Y3qEB8R.png And here's the edited version used in Sakura: https://i.imgur.com/8aALYOO.png Unfortunately, yes, this does mean that you can't change the envstill file without also altering t...

Re: Rare Casual I/O cars - Lobby
Actually, I think your event idea would be pretty cool to have listed as an official event. The only requirement for those is just to use stock content and I/O custom content, and it sounds like this should qualify. If you're interested, just let me know and I'll even try to host (or find a host) fo...

Re: Suggestion regarding RNG pick-up selection
I definitely hope to see the game open-source one day. Before something like that happens, however, perhaps taking some precautions to prevent this potential "split" would be a good idea. I've been going on for ages about building a sort of game launcher working akin to (if not even forked...

Re: Blender 2.79 Re-Volt Add-on
Would it be reasonable to implement a feature that could allow to easily re-scale an entire track? It's easy to scale down the PRM and NCP files, but we currently have to redo all the MAKEITGOOD stuff. There's plenty of decent tracks out there that happen to have the scale wrong, so this kind of fea...

Re: 20th Re-Volt Anniversary
Hey there, two things. First off, for those who haven't been following it on Discord, the meetup is going to happen in Frankfurt on July 27-28 . It's very hard to say whether we can manage anything special other than a LAN party and perhaps some real R/C racing, and I suspect most of the time will j...

Re-Volt Zone Advertisements
Zach has posted the following announcement on Re-Volt Zone : Good day to you all! Two years ago, I asked for your help covering web hosting expenses. As you can imagine, all these files add up to some serious hosting requirements. To my amazement, you all stepped up and made enough donations to cove...

Firstly, I was there in person when the project was originally designed by Marv and Thomas (incidentally, that was also when I originally posted about what wou...

Re: RVGL Issue
That 2nd step can be skipped entirely. There's not much point in installing 1.2 if you're just going to use RVGL afterwards anyway, unless you want to use 1.2 alongside; but I don't think 1.2 would work well if you have RVGL installed on top of it, so it'd be best to keep them in separate installs. ...

Reading replays from archives
In the RVIO session archive , we keep the replay files in sets, zipped up as 7Z files. I'm wondering if it'd be possible to have the game read directly from these files without the need to extract them, with "Next Replay" or "Previous Replay" listed in the menu. Just a thought. I...

Re: RVGL Startup speed
I just tried it as well, can confirm that it's also happening on my end. Moving out all the replays (I had 469 .rpl files) reduces the wait time from 30 seconds to just 1-3 seconds. Counted the seconds from launching the game up until the loading screen appears.

No problem at all! Sakura actually already has three songs assigned to it, including The Man's song. Definitely wouldn't mind one more, and I think your song would make a great addition!

Re: Cutting people off by mandatory Discord
Indeed, all official events always have the IP addresses posted on the events page, specifically to keep Discord from being a requirement. Unfortunately, this is not always possible with unofficial events, as hosts might not be okay with having their IPs listed publicly in advance, or they might hav...

Re: Horizon screen on Android version
Ditto on having horizontal screen as the default setting. Most other racing games I've played on mobile (granted, there haven't been a lot of them) do that as well. I think auto-rotation would still be okay if restricted to 180 degrees, though I can definitely see people trying to play the game upsi...

Re: Redbook variations
That would definitely work out fine. Quite frankly, I agree that this is better than extending the REDBOOK functionality. I don't think we need tracks in a certain order (REDBOOK randomizes them too after all), so that shouldn't be an issue. The only problem I can see with this is that we can't vary...

Re: Horizon screen on Android version
+1. I had this issue as well, especially with the part about playing the game while laying down in bed. Roll on your side, and suddenly the game rotates as well in the middle of the race. I hardly ever use auto-rotate aside from playing Re-Volt, so it would be one less step too.

Re: Redbook variations
Sorry for bumping, but is there any chance we'll get this feature soon? I'd like to update the music pack and I need to know how to deal with it. If not possible, I'll just add the community-made soundtrack in /music/rvio and randomly assign single songs to custom tracks that don't have anything yet...

Agreed. This would be nice, especially if coupled with the ability to hide the chat mid-race (for anyone interested in catching up with the chat afterwards, if the ability to scroll through its history is not viable).

Re: Car names at results screen?
This would be a very handy feature to have. I'd love to see it in the ladder results, and it would be cool to have for most other events as well. If you end up adding it, send me some test session logs with the feature, and we'll check if it causes any issues with the session parser (and if it does,...
