I suspect I did it wrong. In the last install, in 2020, when I could still download the full 7z pack, I had new tracks, new cars and new skins, but the main menu remained the classic one.
This time instead I found:
- the menu with different graphics
- the cars seem to have been renamed: the boxes are the original ones but the name displayed and the colored bars different. The cars seem to have been replaced.
- The weapons have different icons.
Curiously, from the description in the home it seemed that the original ReVolt should already be on the system and that the Launcher only installs a patch, but instead it did not ask me where the game was already installed, creating a new installation. Unclear. He asked for a position, but it seemed for a new installation. Was it there asking for the location of the current installation?
I actually found the files in \AppData\Local\rvmm\packs\rvgl_win64\ but it is not possible to launch it from there. Also the editor is hidden, and launching it, it changes the screen resolution, shows a black screen and then immediately closes without error.
I ask for help with this: how do I get the most updated version of ReVolt, with the new tracks, cars, skins? Without changing menus and weapons.
I also have some suggestions:
- There are too many cars to say the least, and they seem to have been unlocked all at once, so you lose the delivery of new cars at the end of a championship. I would like:
- that they were divided by category, being able to switch from one category to the next
- that all the boxes were shown in the pyramid, or grid, divided by category, e.g. scrolling left and right scrolls the cars, up/down to change category
- that X of Y cars were shown, both for the local category, and as a total number
- that X of Y cars were also shown for the skin, by the way, some seem to be mapped badly
- There are so many new tracks, but only one has been added in a championship, it would be worth adding new championships for the new official tracks. And I would like the tracks to be split by championship as well, besides having indicated X of Y, overall and by championship.
- You can choose between controller and keyboard, but it is not possible to have both active, so that I have to go through settings if one day I am without a controller. Also by configuring LT and RT to accelerate I have to use them in the menus as well, whereas I would like to use LS. While these are triggers, they seem to emulate the keyboard, without gradual acceleration.
- The packs configuration menu has unclear descriptions, I would like them to be available in multiple languages, and also for there to be an image describing the change.
- I would like higher resolution textures but similar to the original ones.
- The first time I start it, it asks for the username first and then the language. It scared me: I was afraid that the languages were not entered. I would have preferred the language as the first menu, and then the username. If more than one user is using the same game, they will probably use the same language anyway; however, you can ask in the settings which menu to show first and if to show also the language choice.
- In the "Progress Table" only the classic tracks are listed, also I would add a "mirror/inverted" (and chrono) column and divide them by difficulty (from Junior to Simulation).
- I would also like to see "Championship won with maximum points" stored, as well as championship won.
- I wish there is an editor (improved, with all possible controls visible and the possibility to insert more than 8 lightning) for the tracks, like in the original game, and also an editor for the championships.
- I wish there is a setting to skip the intro movies. I don't know what it is, from when I launch the game to the first movie there are several seconds of black screen.
- I read that ReVolt 2 was planned and has been abandoned. I found the bad copy for Android, do you know anything about a PC version?
