Any tips on making a race flag?

Unread post by sinaosal » Fri Jun 13, 2025 12:41 am

I have been using and exploring Marv's blender plugin recently, and I found out that it's has an option to make the object with the mystery car modifier (for .PRM). It thought it would be better to have it on. What are your thoughts?

I'm sorry for having lots of questions recently, but why does my .NCP model doesn't add collision to the .PRM model? (The models are lowercase & are same name)

To the second question: perhaps the model center does not match at prm and ncp.
Try to import (in empty blender) at first the prm and then the ncp which should find its position exactly overlapping the prm.
Another issue may be the face normals, these have to show to outside direction.

To the first question:
I did not use the cloth effect, but could imagine that it only works while an item is moving, what an prm instance normally does not.

Sometimes I used the object "gary flag" but then you have to find out where its texture is exactly located on bitmap "g".

Best way is using the "water box" object in makeitgood mode.
Please find a picture here for explanation: https://motorhand.de/pics/waving-flag.jpg
You also could use it for moving trees or other wind influenced parts.
Important is a face subdivided in several small triangles.
