Championship mode (Cups) result of skipping

In Championship mode we have possibility to skip race continuation and avoid waiting for other CPU cars to finish their race. We still get results as if all finished normally.
I wonder if this action has any influence on final standing?
If we allow race to continue will the final result be the same as if we skipped it? Can we rely on a skipped results?
Is AI of CPU controlled cars fully predictable with no randomness so the computer can calculate the final standing without completing race in its normal pace?
