Hybrid P2P:
Multi-Player now uses, by default, a new connection mode that combines the best of P2P and centralized connection schemes. The host uses multicasting to ensure that players without a direct P2P connection can still see each other in-game. The command line -nomulticast can be used to switch back to pure P2P mode (eg. to conserve bandwidth). The -nop2p command line is now deprecated.

P2P connection management has further improved, with features like prioritization, order swapping and retry attempts to improve the chances of establishing a successful direct connection. Players who are still unable to connect directly are displayed in dark gray at the Waiting Room.

Late joining is enabled by default (allowing new players to spectate the ongoing race). The -latejoin command line has been removed and -nolatejoin added in its place. Using -nolatejoin can help conserve bandwidth, as with -nomulticast. It's not recommended to use them in most cases.

  • Fixed player colors appearing white in multiplayer replays.
  • Fixed "Press Pause To Continue" message truncated in long translations.

I was waiting for this one !! Since last week's build test, the p2p hybrid has clearly shown itself as the best alternative for ages, with a gameplay feel very close to what we knew with the 1.1!
I hope it will be the same with this version ...
