Anybody up for a Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing reparam pack?

Post by Rynii-chan R/C » Tue Nov 11, 2025 8:24 pm

Sorry about the terrible grammar here, I'm new to this place, but...

Since October 16, 2025... I asked Burner94 about if RVW allows W.I.P. content, we had a very long discussion about it, I planned to cancel it there and it got rejected by request. But...

Since I found this... I was like... "Hey... maybe I could host my current progress to here"!

So... here it begins...

This pack is based on Citywalker's Hot Wheels True Size Pack from 2012.
https://www.revoltworld.net/dl/carpack100/

I thought of wanting to remake this pack as a full-size edition. Re-paramming every single one and resizing them to 1:10 scale just like a normal Re-Volt car. But here's the catch...

My idea was to put a lot of additional stuff in there rather than being just a simple reparam pack. I was planning to use individual engine sounds in each car (some might be recycled partially to be used in other cars with similar engines), several add-ons, and might use others' remodels. If I ever did use remodels done by others (like Kirbyguy22 and Phimeek), EVERYONE will be credited.

I am extremely inexperienced with Blender and it's way too difficult for me to use and understand! But I know how to resize models and import/export .prm files thanks to Marv's plugin for 2.79b!

Currently I am using placeholder stuff for the cars, like Citywalker's original face-flagged, low-poly models with the hexagon-ish tires (but at 1:64 scale none of those "flaws" were noticeable and keep in mind it was from 2012). And whatever hull Kirbyguy22 used for his Sol-Aire CX4 as the placeholder hulls.

But other than that, nearly all of the parameters have been redone by me slightly inspired by one of Manmountain and Halogaland's early works (like the AngRes, ResMod, Inertia, and Springs params).

So far out of the HWTR-accurate remodels I could find, I found 4 by Kirbyguy22 and 3 by Phimeek. And in this current beta, I am reusing them for this pack... most likely... as placeholders? (None of them exactly have a "permissions" section in any of their readme files, so I'm just gonna credit them and use them for the best............)

Right now I have done quite the majority of them, but they're ALL still under development (they're driveable, definitely, but still have their placeholder). I honestly say the current "version" I call it is 0.6.3.
I might host a Public Beta of my current progress here and set up a MediaFire link, but I will wait and see if I get any reactions/responses first.

I hope everyone understands I am very inexperienced, and new to this whole modding shtick (and new to the game in general, but I've been playing racing games for countless years, but never grew up with a Dreamcast nor a good-working Windows PC at the time). And hopefully this project will turn out quite well in the future (though I would love some help with hull creations and remodeling, maybe we could make this a collaboration someday lol).

Wait... you're serious!? That sounds great!

If you and anyone else wanna help, then I gotta create a download link...
https://www.mediafire.com/file/bisil9s3 ... 3.zip/file

This is my current progress. I hope everything's usable as is. Good luck testing and inspecting.

Thanks for the offer, btw! But please let me know before touching the parameters whenever you decide to.

Some models don't need fixing like the main post says, but those ones still need some shadows and hulls.

Cheers, and happy helping! (idk what to say here lol, I'm such a newbie at this)

Mostly everything here needs shadows:
I first inspected Way 2 Go, looks fine but if you'll look closely, doesn't have a custom shadow. (And most :re-volt: of the cars don't)
Inspected other cars: don't have a custom shadow. I will generate one.
And most of the cars have a collision hul
Note: traveling , I can't look at the download link.

I've seen generating one is slightly on the easier side.

But like I explained in the main post, all collision hulls use placeholders, some don't even have Sol-Aire's placeholder and instead use Citywalker's miniature ones.
Just letting y'all know about that.

Also apparently Way 2 Fast's textures are improperly mapped if you closely look at the engine details. This is an easy fix since I might be using Burner94's model of Way 2 Fast later anyway.

I don't think I explained what remodels I used in the main post, but here are the models that don't need remodeling (though Sol-Aire could use a HWTR skin if I decided to use Gotolei's model):
Twin Mill by Kirbyguy22
Twin Mill II by Phimeek
Purple Passion by Burner94
Jet Threat by Kirbyguy22 (But needs HQ textures)
Speed Blaster by Kirbyguy22
Power Pipes (soon will replace with Phimeek's model)
Slideout by Phimeek
Tow Jam (soon will replace with Phimeek's model)
Way 2 Fast (soon will replace with Burner94's model)

By the way... I didn't fully understand what you meant about not being able to look at the download link?
